Paul Miller: Drums

Paul got the desire to play drums at an early age, but had to wait till his 12th birthday to get his first drum, and finally got a real drumset at age 16.

The next several years saw Paul playing with groups playing various styles, from Yesterdays' Children, a psychedelic rock group in New Orleans in the late 60's to jazz with the Bob Steele Group in the 70's, and later on with Mighty Quick, a highly respected hard rock band out of Little Rock in the late 70's.  He also got experience doing various recording sessions, both with his regular bands, and as a freelancer for others.

After moving to Dallas in 1981 he took a hiatus from playing in bands, but always kept his drums, and several years ago decided it was time to get back in the musical swim.

Since then he’s played with many outstanding musicians in some really interesting and entertaining groups.  They’ve included small jazz groups of various sizes, pop and rock, rhythm & blues, country, and jazz big bands, including Pecos River Brass, a 19-piece big band based in Lewisville.

No matter what style he’s playing, one thing is a constant with Paul.  He always has fun playing, and hopes the audience does, too.
